Braunschweiger Spread

This makes a great snack or appetizer anytime. Serve with your favorite crackers.

In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine braunsweiger, cream cheese, ketchup, onion, and steak sauce. Mix until blended. Shape mixture into a ball. Press olives into the ball. Chill before serving.


  • 1 pound braunschweiger liverwurst
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 drops ketchup
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons steak sauce
  • 1 (5 ounce) jar pitted green olives

Do not mix the cream cheese with the braunschweiger - 16 ounces of the braunschweiger at room temperature mix 1/2 cup of ketchup, two to three dashes of Worcestershire sauce with electric mixer. Then spread in the bottom of glass pie plate and put in refrig to set. Then use Eight ounces of cream cheese softened and whipped with a little milk. Spread cream cheese on top of braunschweiger and refrig for about an hour. Use Melba toast rounds. It's best with a dry cracker.
