This plum and almond crumble slice recipe teaches the best way of making a fabulous buttery traybake that offers a stunning experience for your taste buds. The preparation time is 15 minutes and the cooking time is 1 hour and 5 minutes. The oven should be heated to 180 C/F 160 C/G 4.

A baking tin (20 x 30 cm) must be buttered and lined with the baking paper.

Then, you have to add ground almonds, sugar and butter into a processor and they should be pulsed until the mixture looks like rough breadcrumbs.

Half the mixture must be spooned out into a medium sized bowl before setting aside.

140 gram flour should be added to the mixture (kept in the food processor) and it should be whizzed to form a dough.

It should be tipped into the baking tin and in order to press down, the backside of a spoon must be used.

It needs to be baked for 15 to 20 minutes until turn golden.

Allow it to cool for 10 minutes.

You must place the almond mix, remaining butter and sugar into the processor and, egg, cinnamon, 25 grams flour and baking powder should also be added before whizzing to form batter that is soft before spreading over the base. (You can save a few tablespoons of almond mix for topping).

You need to top with some caster sugar, cinnamon and plum pieces and bake for 20 minutes.

Then, flaked almonds and remaining crumble mix should be sprinkled and cooked for another 20 minutes until turn golden.

Before slicing, allow to cool.

  • Flaked almond – 50 grams.
  • Plain flour – 140 grams. (You must keep extra 25 grams)
  • Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon.
  • Plums – 6 nos. (They should be cut into small pieces)
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon.
