These cookies are like chocolate chip cookies, but with cherry chips instead. What a treat!

Ingredients

  • cup shortening

  • cup butter

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups cherry baking chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Add the 2 eggs and vanilla; mix well. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir this into the creamed mixture. Finally stir in the cherry chips.

  3. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto cookie sheet, and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Edges should be golden brown.
