Ingredients

  • 1 quart fresh blueberries

  • 1 (32 ounce) bottle ketchup

  • 2 cups white sugar

  • 2 cups blackberry jelly

  • 1 ½ cups raspberry balsamic vinegar

  • 1 cup light corn syrup

  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste

  • ½ cup strawberry margarita mix

  • 2 red chile peppers, halved lengthwise

  • 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced

  • 3 tablespoons rum

  • 2 tablespoons finely ground sea salt

  • 2 tablespoons smoked sweet Hungarian paprika powder

  • 2 tablespoons blackening seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring

  • 1 tablespoon finely ground black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Directions

  1. Combine blueberries, ketchup, sugar, blackberry jelly, vinegar, corn syrup, tomato paste, margarita mix, red chile peppers, jalapeno pepper, rum, sea salt, paprika powder, blackening seasoning, soy sauce, garlic powder, liquid smoke, black pepper, and lime juice together in a large pot; bring to a boil.

  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until sauce is smooth, about 30 minutes.

  3. Pour sauce into a blender no more than half full. Cover and hold lid down; pulse a few times before leaving on to blend. Puree in batches until smooth.
