French Veal Chops Tips

What is a good side dish for veal chops?

Since veal is beef, veal goes well with a lot of the same side dishes beef does. The classics are always a great option, such as roasted fingerling potatoes or garlicky green beans. If you're looking for a nice comfort meal, a side of homemade macaroni and cheese is the way to go.

How do you make sure veal is tender?

Veal has much less fat than regular beef does. When cooking veal, that small amount of fat cooks away quickly, which could lead to a tough and dry piece of meat. We suggest short cooking times and introducing a marinade if you’d like, to incorporate moisture and flavor. For larger cuts, use a meat mallet to help tenderize both sides of the meat and loosen the fibers to make your meat more tender.

How else can you cook veal chops?

While this recipe calls for baking the chops, you could easily pan fry this delicious veal chop recipe or even air fry them! Here is our ultimate guide on how to air fry just about anything.
