Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ pound ground beef

  • 1 cup onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

  • 1 ½ teaspoon garam masala

  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 3 cup tomatoes, chopped

  • ½ cup frozen peas

  • 2 limes, halved

  • 3 tablespoon tomato paste

  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro

  • 4 sesame seed buns, split and toasted

Directions

  1. In a large skillet cook beef, onion, and garlic over medium until meat is browned; drain fat. Add ginger, garam masala, cumin, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Cook and stir 1 minute. Add tomatoes. Cook and stir 5 minutes or until tomatoes break down. Add frozen peas. Cook and stir 1 minute. Squeeze juice from limes (about 3 tablespoons) into mixture. Add tomato paste and cilantro; stir to combine. Heat through.

  2. Serve beef mixture in buns with additional cilantro.
