This wine-based punch, originally served in Spain, has been a hit in America for decades since it pairs so nicely with dinner or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 750 milliliter bottle dry red wine

  • 1 cup orange juice

  • ¼ cup brandy

  • Agave nectar or sugar (optional)

  • Orange slices, halved (optional)

  • Lime slices, halved (optional)

  • Fresh strawberries (optional)

  • Fresh mango wedges (optional)

  • 1 12 ounce can lemon-lime flavor carbonated beverage

  • Fresh mint leaves

  • Ice cubes

Directions

  1. In a large glass or plastic pitcher stir together wine, orange juice, and brandy. If desired, sweeten to taste with agave nectar or sugar. If desired, add orange slices, lime slices, strawberries, and/or mango wedges. Cover and chill until ready to serve.

  2. Just before serving, add carbonated beverage; stir gently. Serve over ice. If desired, garnish with mint.
