Steak and Mushroom Pie

Ingredients

1 ounce unsalted butter

6 ounces organic top sirloin steak, cut into bite-size cubes

1 cup sliced button mushrooms

1/2 cup brown gravy

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

1 precooked potpie shell, top and bottom

Mashed potatoes and vegetables, for serving

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Heat the butter in a well-seasoned fry pan. Saute the steak cubes until lightly browned. Add the mushrooms to pan and season salt and pepper;' saute until lightly browned. Add the brown gravy and mix thoroughly. Place into the bottom pot pie shell, and place the top shell over the filling.
  3. Bake until heated through, about 15 minutes.
  4. Serve with your favorite mashed potatoes and vegetables.

It was very easy to make. It tasted very good. We used filet mignon tips which made the steak very tender. The mushrooms were very delicious. We added onions to the recipe. We highly recommend it.
