full disclosure...I changed the meat mixture because that seemed too bland. I did not change the sauce...the whole thing came out fabulous. Everyone wolfed it down and declared this a keeper.
For the meat, I used...
1 lb ground turkey
1 lb ground pork
1 egg
Diced white mushrooms
Grated sweet onion
A couple dashes of worcestershire sauce
A little ketchup
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Garlic powder to your liking
The whole dish was super flavorful that way! :)
Very easy to make, and great flavour. I only had regular canned tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, and it was still great.
