What is Turkey Meatloaf?

Made with ground turkey, our easy turkey meatloaf uses Italian-style bread crumbs and a few seasonings to flavor and bind the meat together. It’s topped with a savory sauce blend and baked in a loaf pan to hold its shape.

How Do I Prevent Easy Turkey Meatloaf from Being Mushy?

For the best turkey meatloaf, be sure you’re using ground turkey breast rather than ground turkey. Ground turkey breast is leaner than ground turkey, which will prevent any mushiness

Will Turkey Meatloaf be Bland?

Our easy turkey meatloaf gets its flavor from Italian-style bread crumbs, in addition to ketchup, Worcestershire, garlic and mustard. It’s our basic recipe. If you like a more highly seasoned recipe, try sweet and salsa meatloaf

How Do I Serve Easy Turkey Meatloaf?

Letting the baked meatloaf stand for 5 minutes after baking, helps it set up so that you can easily remove it from the pan, using a pancake turner. For an easy meal, serve this classic comfort food with mashed potatoes and cooked carrots.

Ingredients

  • 20 oz ground turkey breast
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup Progresso™ Italian style bread crumbs
  • 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, mix ground turkey, 1/2 cup of the ketchup, the bread crumbs, 2 teaspoons of the Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, the garlic and egg. Evenly spread mixture in ungreased 8x4- or 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • 2
In small bowl, mix remaining 1/2 cup ketchup, remaining 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce and the mustard; spread evenly over top of meatloaf.
  • 3
Bake uncovered 55 to 60 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted in center of loaf reads at least 165°F. Let stand 5 minutes.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1
Progresso™ plain bread crumbs can be substituted for the Italian bread crumbs.
  • tip 2
Try 1/2 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce or chili sauce, for the ketchup-mustard mixture, for a delicious change-up.
  • tip 3
If you love onions in your meatloaf, feel free to add 1/2 cup finely chopped onions with the breadcrumbs.
  • tip 4
To make it extra easy to cut meatloaf slices, line your pan with foil before adding the meatloaf mixture. Turn the pan upside down and smooth a large enough piece of foil over the bottom and sides of the pan with about 2 inches of extra foil on either side. Remove the foil; turn the pan right-side up. Place the foil in the pan. After cooling the meatloaf 5 minutes, lift the meatloaf using the extra foil on each side to a cutting board, Push the meatloaf off the foil with a pancake turner before cutting.
